The members of EXO have left some ambiguous (and somewhat unambiguous) messages about Kris’s departure from the group.
Sehun recently posted a picture of a question mark with the caption “…” on his Instagram account.
Chanyeol posted a picture of EXO’s logo on his Instagram with the message, “Encourage the good, punish the evil.”
Luhan updated his Weibo account saying that he will keep quiet about the situation and that SM Entertainment will settle everything.
Suho’s speech for M!Countdown tonight was powerful. He said,
“Thank you for this huge award. Thank you to everyone who loves us. It’s mentor’s day today, so I would like to thank Lee Soo Man. We won’t forget your kindness.
The EXO members genuinely apologize. Our team slogan is “We are one”, and so like our slogan, we promise to become an EXO that belongs not only to the individual, but to ourselves and to our fans. We will work hard. We are one. EXO, I love you.”
After his speech, he met with an OSEN reporter backstage where he said,
“All of the members had a discussion. We don’t understand Kris’s actions at all. Everyone was caught off-guard and have mixed feelings. I think Kris’s actions are irresponsible and show that he’s not thinking about EXO at all. Our members and agency have no issues. What Kris needs to do right now is take back the lawsuit and apologize to the members and the company.”
Tao’s Instagram post, however, was the most powerful out of all the messages.
We all know that he was very, very close to Kris and that he was one of the reasons why Kris didn’t leave SM Entertainment in the first place.
“The road is long. You can go anywhere you want, and no one can make the decision for others. The truth is, the public is always in the dark. Maybe the public will feel for the minority party (Kris), but that’s not the truth. Only we, the people going through all of this, know the truth: Us 11 members, our SM company and staff.
But outside of that, people are mixing up the good and bad. You guys won’t know the feeling of being betrayed by someone. The feeling of everyone siding with the person who betrayed you.
You can have your own opinions and viewpoints, but I want to say this: The truth about right and wrong is clear. Our consciences are clear.
We can’t stop someone who wants to leave. Someone who is trying everything to get away. So he succeeded. When we don’t know anything, he kept it from us and the company and didn’t come back.
Everyone has ambitions, but I hope other people will know how to use it well. We’re sweating hard after practice, only to suddenly find out that someone won’t be coming back. We will have to prepare for the concert all over again as 11.
So tired. EXO. Let’s love”
Tao has always expressed his true feelings, and for him to write this about Kris shows just how hurt and betrayed the members feel about Kris’s departure.
And we agree that Kris’s leaving a week before EXO’s 1st solo concert is very irresponsible.
Perhaps Kris leaving has to do with that rumor that he was cast in a new movie in China. A Chinese screenwriter posted an update on Weibo last month saying that a member of a popular idol group will be “returning to China” to “continue his career”. The idol was said to have “too many fans” and that everyone knows who he is.
This is just all a chaotic mess. We hope both EXO and Kris all the best.
